STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS ADDS CREDENCE TO OPTIMISTIC HEAVY FREIGHT
OUTLOOK

Since 2010, more than 100,000 manufacturing jobs have been reshored by
about 500 OEMs and thousands of their suppliers have followed suit.

Walmart is a leading example of this trend with their decision to
invest $50 billion in American-made goods over the next decade. While
reshoring is undeniably good PR for U.S. OEMs, there is more driving
this bourgeoning trend than marketing strategy. For decades,
offshoring has been the primary way to cut costs and remain
competitive in the North American market. Recently, however,
increasing offshore wage rates and rising transportation costs are
beginning to tilt the equation in favor of U.S. manufacturing. Many
U.S. manufacturers have discovered that local production and sourcing
often reduces their total cost of ownership of purchased parts and
tooling while increasing productivity.

Join this session by Harry Moser to learn more about the reshoring
trend and how to evaluate the potential economic advantages of
reshoring.

This session will help you to:

* Why you should base sourcing decisions on total cost instead of
wage rate or price
* Learn how to properly quantify risks and opportunities in your
sourcing decisions
* Expert reveals the truth about where manufacturing is really headed
* Explore how the TCO Estimator can help you make informed sourcing
decisions
* How to ride the wave of positive reshoring PR
* Where (and how) to find customers and competitors who are reshoring
* Read More (
