 Janie who are you searching?

Art would you be interested/willing to host an open chat?

[Janie] Serching same old people. Illinois Searles, Richardsons etc.

[Art] Not too familar with chat's, give me a litle time

There is a Searles in Albany GA who is editor publisher of a weekly

   paper.

 Whatever you say Art

[Janie] Returned to orginial place (Oh, that is where Searles started)

   Tell me more.

Vee many months/years ago you were tapped to host a chat on

   Afrigeneas

Janie I guess he would be about 85 and widowed with two children I

   think

 First name is Arthur

The paper is called the SouthWest Georgian

[Janie] Gee thanks, I will keep in mind. My Searles started in NC, then

   GA, then ILL

[Art] Must have been a GOOD man :-)) Arthur

 LOL I guess

[Janie] I got booted again.

[Janie] My Searles a white man and a black "wife" with 8 Mulatto kids

   back in 1845

 OK

The Searles I know has no visible signs of white ancestry

I first met him about 1948 when I moved to Albany GA

Guess we lost Art and Vee

 Ouch!

[Janie] Kicked again. My gggrandmother , a dau of white Searles had

   no visible signs either.

The story of our geneaogy LOL

[Janie] I am going to get busy with the GA connection right away.

Well Art Searles is a good place to begin.

 Where are you located janie?

[Janie] Thanks loads for the info. I am in Denver.

I ask just to get a sense of resources and needs.

[Janie] Great resources. Fed archives here.

Oh my high in the sky with rare air

Was in Denver MANY years ago.

[Janie] Please don;t forget Denver as you vacation. Truly a beautiful

   place and "hardly" any snow.

 Had an NAACP conference there.

[Janie] Lot of "us" live in Denver and surrounding cities.

I recall it was progressive in my brief stay

[Janie] Progressive and lately expensive to live here . All of California

   came to live.

Is researching easy for you there?

I know I lived in Santa Barbara for anout 30 years

[Janie] Researching is great. Lots of very good and helpful Family

Centers. Archives very near and a great library.

and you have a Black genealogy group?

[Janie] Always wanted to live in Santa Barbara

[Janie] Yes, a very active and good black "Search Group"

Well SB got to be too expensive

so we moved to Anniston in 1990

[Janie] Only rich in Santa Barb now I'm told.

[Janie] Alabama is the up and coming place to be.

 Well not altogether true

Most of my friends are there

[Janie] Yes, I know but lots of people from my original home in Illinois

   think so.

They are comfortable but far from rich

[Janie] Oh, you mean Santa Barb???

 Yes

[Janie] Perhaps rich are taking over.

There are about 6 thou Black people in Sabta Barbara County

[Janie] Loved our chat. Need to go get a sick friend at hospital. Come to

Denver when you can. You will love it.

They came originally with wealthy families as servanta

 See you soon Janie

[Janie] I'm going to get busy with Searles this aftenoon. Bye

 Thanx for stopping by
